Hi, my name is Hoover. This is the costume that won me first price in 2010's Howl-A-Week party at Sycamore Dog Park. Although I left this world way too early, even in dog years, I had the best pawrents a dog could ask for - except when they felt the need to dress me like this. Buy hey, I had great digs to live in and they took me to the park to hound my friends almost every day. They spoiled my and let me be me right up to the end, so it was a small price to pay. I think i left them part of me in my new little sister, Spirit, who I may add, is a chip off the ole' block. Carry on my spirit, Little Spirit...

Shayna grew up in Wingdale, NY and had a prior owner. She was never abused but did pretty much as she pleased, including having several litters of puppies. One day, her owner decided he didn’t want her and released her to the Pawling Animal Shelter. Five months later, her story appeared in the newspaper and she was immediately adopted by Larry. Although she was 7 1/2 years old at the time, she lived more than half her life with Larry and family. She had a great second half of her life. Shayna’s nickname was ‘Tuna’. She was independent, feisty, friendly, and a survivor. In dog years, she lived to be 102. In those ‘102’ years, she lived every moment to the fullest. We are glad you were part of our family, Shayna.

Brandywhine, one of the original members, was known as the "Peacemaker" of the Park. She had been suffering with liver problems and later bone cancer. She always loved the dog park and the interaction of the dogs and the people. She could never stand seeing two dogs fighting or a puppy being bullied. Her loss leaves a big hole in all of our hearts.

Mindy was 7 months old when Larry adopted her from a kill shelter in PA. She had a previous owner and was afraid of men. She gradually overcame these fears and grew to love and trust everybody. She loved to run (and eat) and became very social with people and animals. She always wanted to go to the Dog Park and was a gentle, sweet dog. She was a great addition to the family.
