Friends of Sycamore Bark Park

Who we are: A group of individuals committed to the establishment and maintenance of an off leash dog park within the Town of Carmel in conjunction with the community and the Carmel Town Parks and Recreation.

Mission: To provide ongoing community assistance in maintaining the park as a recreational asset for human and canine citizens of Putnam County;  To maintain a positive presence in the community and to encourage community interaction and involvement; To uphold and strengthen community values and compliance with the canine laws by promoting responsible dog ownership; To support the conservation of open land for recreation by citizens and their dogs; To educate the community about responsible dog ownership; To serve as a communication liaison with the town, neighborhood and dog owners.

What is a dog park? A dog or "bark" park is a park where the owner and their dog can recreate, socialize and exercise with others in a fenced-in ar
ea that is supervised and safe without endangering or annoying other people, property or wildlife.  Park amenities include benches, picnic tables, poop scoop stations, trash receptacles and watering stations.
